Many think that they can sell their homes themselves and avoid paying the realtor fees. Tempting in this hot market, but it is often in your best interest to use an agent. Are your walls a bright color? Consider painting them a neutral tone, this could be more appealing to potential buyers. Buyers like to envision themselves in your home. What is your style, might not be theirs. Try to make your home look as neutral as possible.
Does the basement door handle only work if you jiggle it? Fix it! Don’t make a buyer stop in their tracks and wonder “What else is broken here?” A little bit of time in fixing small things will go a long way in the end.
Consider putting money and expensive jewelry in a safe in your closet. Keep anything that’s important or valuable out of sight.
